Today is the summer solstice, a traditional festival marking the first day of summer for the Northern Hemisphere. While many of our summer plans are looking much different to how we thought they would at the start of the year, the beginning of the season and its welcome warm weather are still a cause for celebration. To help you welcome in the season, we’re sharing some of our team’s favourite fragrances to enjoy in the sunny weather, from cooling fresh scents to joyful florals.
“I love our Sicilian Lemon Lamp Fragrance, which is so light, fresh and sparkling that it cuts through summer heat. It brings to mind a vision of sun baked lemon groves on the island of Sicily, and an ice cold little glass of Limoncello liqueur!”
– Andrew, Managing Director
Our cherished holidays and getaways seem far from our reach at present. We all look forward to time away; our chance to escape our everyday lives, time to relax, taking in new surroundings and making new memories. Now more than ever, most of us are longing to get out of the house and to getaway. To cheer you up, Ashleigh & Burwood has a few ideas (some of them a little humorous) to bring the holiday to your home.
As sunny weather starts to shine through the clouds, we begin spending a lot more time outdoors relaxing and enjoying the sunshine. With the sun comes a season of outside events, from garden parties and barbecues to outdoor weddings. Little details can that have an impressive effect on the atmosphere of any event and fragrance is hugely useful in creating the perfect ambience.
According to Pantones Colour of the Year, green is the shade that will define 2017. Explaining their choice of colour, Pantone suggested that green reflects our growing desire for revitalisation in the face of a tumultuous 2016 and an effort to reconnect with the natural world as we become more dissatisfied with modern life.
Welcome to our Country Garden! For our Spring Collection we wanted to paint a picture of stolen moments of relaxation in dappled sunlight within a pretty cottage garden.
Thank goodness for the heatwave, because we were seriously starting to wonder whether the holiday blues were terminal. If you, like us, have been desperately longing for the calming sea waves, the invigorating scent of salty sea air and the blissful sensation of walking along the sun-drenched seafront we think we may have the cure.
