Our latest move in our journey to becoming a more sustainable business is a new partnership with Ecologi to plant a tree for every order placed through our website. We're proud to be taking this step and can't wait to watch our forest grow.

Who are Ecologi and what do they do?

Ecologi is an environmental organisation that works with businesses and individuals to fund carbon offset projects, including tree planting, across the globe. Ecologi focuses on high-impact climate solutions which will be vital contributors to solving climate change. Forest restoration and reforestation are some of the most well-known climate solutions available, due to trees natural and efficient ability to absorb carbon from the atmosphere. Ecologi's mission is to reduce 50% of global CO2 emissions by 2040 and responsibly plant billions of trees every year.

In 2021, the Ecologi community funded over 23 million trees and their reforestation projects supported 1,026 livelihoods through jobs or long-term training programmes.

Where does Ecologi plant the trees from my order?

Ecologi’s trees are planted across the globe. They fund forests in Madagascar and Uruguay as well as reforestation projects in KenyaAustraliaNicaraguaMozambiquethe United States and the United Kingdom, working with partners such as the Eden Reforestation Project, One Tree Planted, The Future Forest Company and Project Earth. The trees planted from your order could take root nearby in the UK or much more exotic location like Africa or South America.

You can find out more about where the trees in our forest were planted here.

What type of trees are planted?

Ecologi plant a variety of different trees in different sites, choosing ecologically appropriate trees for the place and ensuring biodiversity within the forest. A large portion of the trees planted are mangroves, as these trees can store carbon at up to four times the rate of tropical rainforests. As a coastal species, mangroves are also less susceptible to being destroyed by wildfires.

You find out more about which types of trees make up our forest here.

How much carbon does each tree sequester?

This varies from tree to tree, however scientific study of mangrove forests has found that a hectare of mangroves can sequester 3,082 tonnes of CO2 over a 25 year life time which works out to 308KG per tree. The trees we plant will need several years to mature before they can start sequestering carbon in large quantities.

Where can I keep up to date with the trees A&B has funded?
